Philosophy of Ministry
When I was a teenager I felt
that God was leading me to work with children. At that time, churches did
not have children's ministers. The closest to that position was a Child Care
Director. So I went to college, getting a child development degree to work
in a childcare in a church. After several years, I felt God leading me to
teaching full time in a school system. I continued to be very active in
teaching children at church in choirs and other activities. After many years
of teaching, I began to feel a call that God wanted me to do more than what
I was doing teaching and being an active church member. I knew that our
church was looking for a full time minister to children and had many people
say I should do this. But it was not until I knew without a doubt that God
wanted me to accept this call that God's plan began to unfold in my life.
With much prayer and searching I knew that God's plan was the only way for
me to go. Working with children is the delight of my life. There is no
greater reward here on earth than seeing children live, laugh, and learn
about God and His love for them. God has a distinct plan for my life and my
work with children, and He in turn has a plan for His children. It is our
job to help them to recognize God's calling in their lives and to show them
the way through God's word. God began a ministry in my life at an early age
and I am now getting the opportunity to fulfill that call to ministry at FBC.
How awesome is that!
Working for Him,
